How to Enable Two-Factor Authentication on Your Facebook Account?

There are several things you can do to keep your account secure, like choosing a strong password, but to really protect your Facebook account from hackers, it's best to enable two-factor authentication.

Two-factor authentication works like this:

When you want to log in to your account, you enter your account name or email address and your password as usual.
You then retrieve a unique security code on your mobile.
You enter this security code on the Facebook login screen to complete the process.
This virtually guarantees that no one else can log into your Facebook account without having physical access to your smartphone. This is something relatively difficult even for a good hacker.

If you want to enable two-factor authentication on your Facebook account, it's easy. You just need to follow the steps below, depending on the device you are doing it on.

Important: Choosing to retrieve a unique security code from an authenticator app protects your account much more effectively than receiving accounts via SMS.

Follow these steps if you're using Facebook on a PC browser:

1. Log in to your Facebook account (if you haven't already).
2. Click on the down arrow located at the top right of the Facebook window.
3. Click on Settings and Privacy .
4. Click Settings.
5. In the leftmost column, click Security & Login .
6. Scroll down and click Use Two-Factor Authentication and follow the on-screen instructions .

Follow these steps if you're using the Facebook app on mobile:

1. Log in to your Facebook account .
2. Tap the Menu icon ( three horizontal lines ).
3. Tap Settings and Privacy .
4. Tap Settings.
5. Tap Password & Security .
6. Scroll down and tap Use Two-Factor Authentication then follow the on-screen instructions .

And that's all ! You are protected!

Now that two-factor authentication is enabled on your Facebook account, it requires physical access to your phone to access your account even with the password!
