The block feature helps you control how you interact with other accounts on Twitter. It allows users to block certain accounts from contacting them, seeing their tweets, and following them.
Important information about the blocking feature:
- Accounts you have blocked cannot follow you, and you cannot follow an account you have blocked.
- Blocking an account you follow will unfollow you from that account (and vice versa). If you decide to unblock this account, you must subscribe to it again in order to follow it again.
- Banned users do not receive a notification telling them that their account has been banned. However, if a blocked user goes to the profile of the user who blocked them, they will notice that they have been blocked (unlike what happens with the hide function, which remains invisible to the blocked user).
- If you block someone and they want to report your account, they will see your Tweets directly mentioning them and can attach it to their report.
- You won’t receive notifications from accounts you’ve blocked, or from accounts you don’t follow that mention you in conversations initiated by accounts you block. However, you will see notifications from the accounts you follow when they mention you in a conversation initiated by an account you have blocked. If you want to see all of your mentions, you can search for your username.
comment : You can only block an account if they are logged into Twitter. For example, if you block an account that is not connected to Twitter or accesses Twitter content through a third party, that account will be able to see your public tweets. Banned accounts cannot:
- Follow you;
- see your Tweets when they are connected to Twitter (unless you are reported and mentioned by your Tweets);
- find your tweets by doing a search when you’re logged into Twitter;
- send you private messages;
- View lists, likes and following or following lists when logged into Twitter;
- View the moment you created when you log in to Twitter;
- adding your Twitter account to their lists;
- Recognize yourself in a photo.
Tweets from blocked accounts do not appear in your feed. However, you may see Tweets or notifications in your feed if:
- Tweets from users you follow that mention accounts you’ve blocked
- Tweets that tag you, as well as an account you’ve blocked

How do I know if I’ve blocked someone?
When you go to the profile of the account that you have blocked, the button He follows It is replaced by a button Forbidden.
Tweets from an account you’ve blocked are hidden when you visit their profile. However, you can view the tweets from that account by clicking on the button View tweets.
To unblock a Twitter account:
- Go to the profile of the blocked account on Twitter.
