How to hide a Twitter account – combofre

The Twitter Protected Tweets option gives you the ability to post to Twitter without your Tweets being visible to the public. Only people you specifically allow to follow your account can see your tweets – Google and other search engines can’t. Protected Tweets, along with an anonymous profile, allows you to maintain your privacy while using Twitter.

Use protected Tweets

To find the option to hide your tweets, log into Twitter, click the gear icon at the top of your homepage, select “Settings,” click “Security & Privacy” in the left-hand menu, and then activate “Protect my Tweets.” The option is in the Privacy section. Uncheck the option to add a location to your tweets as well as the option to allow others to find you by your email address. If someone wants to follow you, you have the option to agree or deny your followers access to your posts.

Make your profile anonymous

To ensure your anonymity on Twitter, click the gear icon, select Edit Profile, and then edit your photo and photo header so it doesn’t look like you or leave it blank. Change your name and remove your location, description and website. Save changes to your profile so that your personal information, such as your name and location, is deleted.
